New Carpet (Sorta)
My dad has been asking me about what kind of carpet I want to put down in the house. It’s been a tough call, but I think I found a great way to sample different colors over the entire room without having to lift much more than a finger. I found a few colors that I like that I was hesitant about at first. Okay, well, at first, I was thinking about a light tan or beige to make the room brighter. In reality, I think the room needs more color. My favorite colors so far are either the darker blue, red, or green. I think they bring good color to the room without clashing with the existing decor. The green looks the best so far because it doesn’t clash with the dark blue and red curtains. I’m going to run the idea by my parents and see what they think. The colored carpet will also help with black dog hair and any accidents that occur. A handheld steam vac will also help with the accidents, too!
Oh, and the carpet sample pictures can be found here.

Other than that, I’ve been working, doing the regular Friday night thing, eating tacos, LAN partying, watching/listing/going to hockey games, watching $1 movies on Wednesdays, watching movies from Netflix, going to baby showers (we ate and played foosball and pool!), meeting new family members (that married cousins), and watching a lot of the History Channel recorded on TiVo. Oh, and working on the new server (again). So, a little busy.
Justin FINALLY got a new job. He’s working from 6AM-2PM at Ross (the discount retail store). He’ll get paid in a couple of weeks and help pay rent again!
Once I get paid back for rent for the month of November and December, I’ll probably be able to buy a new totally kick-ass computer. I want to get a new Shuttle with a dual-core AMD, 2GB of RAM, two 250+GB hard drives in a RAID 0 (striping, for speed), and two nVidia 7800 SLI PCI-x video cards. It should SCREAM!
After that may come a new set of drives and a new RAID array for Overkill. It’ll be faster and greater than one terrabyte. Then, comes a new laptop in the last quarter of 2006. That’s when my current laptop’s warranty runs up. I want to get something that can play my real-time strategy games and have a hella-long battery life. I will probably sell my current eMachine. It’s put up with a lot, but I’m about ready for something newer, faster, and fancier.
I think that’s about it other than trying to plan a long weekend vacation to some sort of ski resort and try my hand at skiing or snowboarding. I’d also like to try ice skating again. I’ve only been ice skating once and never been skiing or snowboarding and would LOVE to give those a try. We’ll see how that unravels over the next month or two.
I know it’s been a while since my last update, but the things I’d have to update on are either short stuff or just boring. December and January are going to be busy months, so maybe I will post a bit more. The most exciting part is two hockey games! One this Thursday versus the New York Rangers and another on Saturday the 17th versus the Columbus Blue Jackets. Then we go to the January 6th game against the Red Wings. That will be the BEST!
I’ve rambled on enough. Let me know what you think of the carpet. I may attempt to go to bed early(er) tonight!
